Welcome to our new website.
This website has a map, database and blog. It has been built with an editing tool for adding Church, Graveyard and other religious locations and entities. This backend tool is used by a team of volunteers adding location and historical and current information. In addition a blogging capability exists. The frontend website is free to use for all visitors. The Church Sites Map allows you to navigate around Scotland, to search for placenames and to search for current or alternative church names. When you've found the location of interest you can see information including images, an overview, and more detailed information on alternative names, notable people and events, and sources of further information.
You can learn more about POWIS and Scottish Church Heritage Research by visiting the various links at the top and bottom of the page. To contribute financially or to become a volunteer editor or maybe just to send us some information on a site you know a lot about then please don't hesitate to help via this link.
