If you would like to help us build up the database there are three main areas where you can help.
If you have any images of churches, mosques, synagogues, temples etc please send them to us by email - email@example.com. All images are very welcome but we are particularly keen to receive images of the interior of places of worship especially if they have had a subsequent change of use. Unfortunately, we cannot accept images that have copyright restrictions as they need to be copyright free for us to publish them on our website and on Wiki Commons.
We try to collect as much information about the sites as possible include its architecture, history and people associated with site. If you would like to add to this body of work please use the form here. Fill it out as completely as you can but don't worry about any blanks, our editorial team will review it before it is added to the site.
We also collect centenary books and leaflets, parish histories, newspaper cuttings and recollections, indeed anything that can add to the understanding of the place of worship and the community that called it their spiritual home.
Our plan is to digitise that which is out of copyright and make this available via our website. Publications that are still in copyright we will hold until the copyright expires and then digitise them. Clearly we are in this for the long haul!
As our database is updated it will be regularly submitted to Historic Environment Scotland to form part of the national record of Scotland.
If you have any questions about any of the above, please don't hesitate to contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
