Prior to 1866 mission work started from Govan Old Church. In 1866 a Gaelic Chapel known as Govan Highland Church was built. The architect was Robert Baldie. It was disjoined from Govan and Dean Park Churches in 1884 and given Quoaud Sacra status. About this time its name was changed to St Kiaran's Parish Church. In 1931/32 it united with Dean Park Church to become St Kiaran's Dean Park Church. In 1976 the church closed and the building sold. It was subsequently demolished.
The church was aligned essentially north west/south east with the entrance gable on the west (say).
The west gable was tall with pairs of stepped corner buttresses ending in ornate open octagonal pinnacles.
The entrance had a steep pitched canopy and a pointed arch entrance with a hood moulding. Inside it was an ogee-shaped entrance. Above were a trio of tall pointed arch windows with a continuous hood moulding and label-stops. The windows contained two poinred trefoils and ornate tracery. Above again was a large triangle with arced sides and a hood moulding and label-stops. It contained three smaller windows and tracery.
To the sides were wide aisles with the west ends gabled outwards and creating stairwells. These had pairs of corner stepped buttresses. Their west faces had tall ointed arch lancet windows with continuous hood mouldings/string course.
