Site United Presbyterian Church, Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway

A Secession Church was founded in 1817. Between 1817 and 1823 a church was built but it was not financially successful and the building was sold. In 1836 the Relief Church which had reformed in 1835 purchased the building. In 1870 they built a new church further to the east on Abercromby Road.

This was a small rectangular building on the easrt side of Abercromby Road and parallel to it. It was on the east side of its junction with Laurel Bank Terrace.
