Site Cowlairs Somerville Church of Scotland, Cowlairs, Springburn, Glasgow

A church was formed in 1884 and met in a shop in Millarbank Street. A hall was built the next year. A Chapel of Ease was built in 1889/90 with William Forrest Salmon as architect.  The church was granted Chapel of Ease status in 1895 and Quoad Sacra status in 1899. In 1936 a small hall, vestry and kitchen were built onto Church. In 1965 the church united with Somerville Memorial Church to form Cowlairs Somervill Church and Cowlairs Church continued in use. The next union was in 1978 with Johnston, Sighthill, Springburn North Hill and Wellfield Churches. This time Cowlairs Church closed and was later demolished.

When the church closed the War Memorial Communion Table was moved to Collessie Kirk in Fife.
