The Park Church of Scotland, Giffnock, East Renfrewshire


A Mission Hall was built in 1939/42 at Orchard Parfor which the architects were Noad & Wallace. This was suplemented in 1952 by and additional hall and offices. In 1965/67 a new church was built or at least the previouse was sustantially rebuilt. The architects were Eric Doig Elison, John Thomson King & Thomas Bell Main of King Main Ellison. The church was united with Glasgow Park Church in 1966 as Giffnock The Park Church. The Orchard Park Church continued in use. 

The church has two monopitch roofs with the larger lower down and creating a clerstorey with the steeper one. It is aligned slightly anticloclwise of east/west . The foundations have reconstituted stone facing block and above is roughcasted and painted. The main part of the church has windows just below the eaves with the shorted section having limited windows. The is a tall campanile. 

The Warr Memorial and stained glass from the hall church were incorporated in the new church.
